November 28, 2007 Should Brandy Be Charged With Manslaughter?

December 30 marks the one year anniversary of the fatal multiple car accident R&B singer Brandy allegedly caused and has YET been charged! Sources are saying that plans to make a decision at the very last moment. If charges aren’t filed, chances are the public wouldn’t notice over the holidays and the case would quietly go away. Bill Sayed, lawyer for the victim’s husband, Marouane Hdidou. Sayed questioned the delay, saying,

“There is a death and obviously reckless driving involved, which is enough evidence for an involuntary manslaughter charge. As to why the City Attorney has taken this long? I think we would all like to know.”

Love Muffins I’m worried about our Brandy! Just like you, I love her music and I really hope all works out for her. I understand a life was taken by her actions, but does she really need to be charged with involuntary manslaughter? Thoughts?

  • If she was guilty they would’ve charged her by now. Nothing has been said or done about this case in a year. It would look really stupid of the State to file charges now. If they thought she was guilty they should’ve done it maybe I don’t… WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED! Give me a Break!

  • give me a break. it was an accident. Bless the soul of the late woman. but brandy was NOT under the influence of drugs neither was she crunk.. so please, let her go on with her career.

  • I dont think she should be charged

  • according to brandy there was another car involved as well that hit her from behind causing her to hit the other car

there wasnt anything wrong with her car and she wasnt under the influence or distracted, i think it was just an unfortunate situation that happened and she gets all the blame because she is the celeb

  • if she’s guilty then she has to do the time. me likey brandy too!!!

on a different note: she has the most perfect and whitest teeth i’ve seen in my life. add that to the list of things i want to get done when i come into some money! ;)

  • It was an ACCIDENT. If she wasn’t rich and famous they wouldn’t be going after her like this. They really should leave her alone.

  • I really feel for both her and the victim’s family. The whole thing was an accident….no, she shouldn’t.

  • It’s really weird that no charges have been filed. Could it be that she is a celeb and can afford the best lawyers in the world. I think this is another case of a celeb does something bad and gets off. If Keisha from Oakland did this she probably would be serving 10 years by now. Don’t get me wrong I love Brand’y music also, but someone died! Let’s keep it real people!

  • I love Brandy, I think shes the sweetest girl, has got the kindest heart and is extremely talented and obviously this had nothing to do with d.u.i, BUT nethertheless it happened and Brandy should face the consequences for her actions. Someone has DIED because of this – theres nothing more serious than that, and so although its a sad case, we gotta be real about it and say that yes, she should be charged for Involuntary Manslaughter because thats exactly what it is.
All my sympathies go out to her, but something happened that means because of her, someone doesnt have the luxury of life, and so I feel for their family alot more…….

  • As much as I love Brandy, I would need to hear all the facts and circumstances surrounding the case. Someone did die and if it was a result of Brandy’s negligence then she should be charged. This does not necessairly mean she would go to jail. Accidents do happen even negligent ones, there was no intent behind this. So with all that said, I think the facts and circumstance are going to determine if and when she’s charged. Prayers go out to her and the family of the deceased.

  • that lady died … if it was you or me , would we have been charged , that is the question ?

  • Heeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllll yeah she should be charged with manslaughter. Would you feel any differently if she was responsible for killing a member of your family?

  • If it were you or I, we would already be in the slammer for manslaughter. She has some great lawyers working for her which is why it has been about a year before going to court. The victim’s family could also be holding out for money. I enjoy Brandy’s music, she’s very gifted & I have all of her cd’s but b/c of her negligence someone died and the laws of the land should apply to her & every other celebrity.

  • People die in car accidents all the time. It’s a tragic event, but it happens. People get cited for their negligence, but in this situation, and in any like it, no one needs to be charged with involuntary manslaughter. Imagine if you were driving the car that killed someone in an accident…the guilt you would feel would be worse than any legal action that could be taken on you. If this was a DUI it would be different, but it wasn’t…it was an accident, and I’m sure Brandy has suffered enough from all of this. Criminal charges should be brought on CRIMINALS…not people that are a part of ACCIDENTS.
