November 20, 2007 Say It Isn’t So!
Boy Bands usually come in phases. After they take the public by storm and subsequently fall into obscurity (New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, etc), it takes a while for a new crop of naive little girls (and gay boys) to grow up and start feeding into the “boy band frenzy” again. I was watching MTV Hits today and a new boy band by the name of “NLT”. I wasn’t expecting frivolous pop to return until at least 2011 but I guess it’s starting up again.
NLT – She Said, I Said (Time To Let Go)
They’re managed by Chris Stokes (Immature, B2K, Omarion) and their song “She Said, I Said (Time We Let Go)” was produced by none other than Timbaland. WTF??? As far as fulfilling the boy band criteria: they dance OK, they sing alright, but they aren’t the cutest kids on the playground.
Don’t get me wrong, I have indulged in the guilty pleasure of boy bands but don’t you think the music industry would be a little bit better if we held off on the boy bands for a couple of years? Take a listen and tell me if I am being to harsh?

HI LOVE MUFFIN!
I happen to be a fan of most things boyband (although I never liked the Backstreet Boys LOL) and have to say I agree that there is usually a bigger gap between boyband infusions.
I guess Time will tell if it is too soon or not. LOL

I think its a cool video and song. a YT B2K. Been watching the “Breakup” videos of B2K on youtube and I don’t care for Chris Stokes too much…He did those kids dirty! Watching this video makes me wonder who will Chris pull out the bunch to make a solo star!?!

It sounds pretty good. They actually have better looking photos. As far as the moves, I will wait for them to do a fast song, they may surprise me. Dancing is most important in a boy band.

i heard this on the radio last week before i knew who it was and thought it was tight. so i can’t hate just cuz it’s a boy band.

I have literally been GETTING this song since October! Never did I know that they are a bunch of little white boys. I am pleasantly shocked, surprised and intrigued. And the song is still cute. Can’t take that away from them! They may fade into obscurity in 6 months, but that’s the state of music these days…

personally… i think they are a talented group… they DO know how to dance… v and jj have both been dancing since they were children… people need to stop hating. everyones listen to “thicka than a snicka” and “chain hang low” kind of music today… IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE! i think these boys have good beats… amazing voices… and are incredible dancers. i don’ think anyone should judge them off of their first hit… because “i want you back” was SUCH great song. GET REAL!! no one listens to the music anymore… everyone is corrupted by the images that society spreads. i wish the best of luck to NLT. and they’re not only pop, but r&b as well. =o) thanks!

I’ve been pushing NLT since this summer. I LOVE this song. I think they have real talent. Alot of their music they have out is R&B stuff. Hopefully Chris Stokes dont mess this group up..
ALSO. one of the members of NLT has a solo song “Your Song”-Travis..really should check it out as well as some other NLT music
