Update: Revised Chart Policy Lands Eagles At No. 1
The Eagles’ first new studio album in 28 years, the Wal-Mart exclusive “Long Road Out of Eden,” takes a short route to No. 1 on The Billboard 200 after Billboard revised a significant chart policy today. Britney Spears’ “Blackout,” which would have been No. 1 had the Eagles’ data not been reported, will open at No. 2 with first-week sales of 290,000 copies.
HitsDailyDouble.com has updated their album sales stats and Britney’s numbers have increased dramatically since yesterday. With a little under two thirds accounted for at 65.84%, “Blackout” is currently still number one with 247,304 units sold. Brit-Brit looks like she will capture the #1 spot with her closest competition, Carrie Underwood’s “Carnival Ride” in #2 at 138,646 units sold and label-mate Backstreet Boys’ “Unbreakable” album with only 68,254 units sold. Her final numbers won’t be any where near her previous efforts but being #1 is still great.

Congrats Britney. I actually purchased the album even though I DL’d all the tracks and more from the net….but the real version is worth the $9.99 because the clarity is so much better and this album has so many sounds going on that it’s a disservice to just listen to the lower quality versions floating around the net. The negative to all this is that….Britney’s album could have debuted with MUCH higher numbers if she 1) slayed her MTV performance and 2) she actually had it together and promoted this album. Right now, the music is saving Britney and she needs to be thanking God for that.

B, you said she cleans up well; I don’t think so, these pictures are photoshopped to the high heavens.
