October 29, 2007 New Music: Leona Lewis’ “Angel”
Checkout the HQ radio rip of Leona Lewis’ new single “Angel” off her upcoming debut album Spirit, in stores November 12th. I don’t think this is a good choice for her second single. I’m not impressed with the song in anyway and I wonder how many times she said you’re an angel? Thoughts?

Y’all know I am a huge fan of hers (down B Scott!) but this song just doesn’t do it. Yes, I just said I don’t like something Leona did!!

This just goes to show you can’t just take any high-yella heffa off the street and make her the next Mariah! You just can’t do it!
Don’t get me wrong, I watched X-Factor when she was on it and her voice gave me chills! But instead of going for this inspirational/90s Mariah sound they need to try and do something more original with her. Bleeding Love (which I did NOT like, sounds like some damn elevator music) and now this song…I’m just not feelit…it’s just too boring. They need to give her something a little more upbeat and new. This song sounds like a bastardized mix of Mariah’s “Always Be My Baby” and Beyonce’s “Irreplacable”
