October 28, 2007 Cover Wars: Beyonce and Mario
Beyonce recorded the song “If” for the B’Day Deluxe Edition. Recently, a version of Mario singing the same song surfaced. Although it will not be on his upcoming album Go, its good to hear the song interpreted two different ways. Let me know what you think about the songs. Who did it better or are they both whack?

I liked Mario’s version it was more about the vocals…although I must admit the production on B’s was nice

psh.. i’d say beyonces but neither really.. i’m too use to hearing trey songz over that beat of marios so it doesn’t really work for me.. not a fan of marios at all.. the melody he’s singin doesn’t go with it either..

I prefer Marios version. Beyonce is over doing it in a Celine Dion style, and the music behind her sucks I just cant feel it.

Um, I am gonna hafta go with B on this one. I mean, I like the music and the production better on her version. And like someone else mentioned, it’s hard for me to get into Mario’s version because I too am use to hearing Trey Songz over that beat.

I love Marios’ version but that beat song like Trey Songz music. Haven’t Trey recorded a song on this beat?!!!

Not feeling either one really…the beat on Mario’s version is the music for Trey Songz new song, “Can’t Help But Wait”.

Hands down…….. BEYONCE!!! Mario sounded a fool!! And his music is way too fast!
