  I’ve said this from the very beginning…I sorta like Leona…but I think they’re trying too hard to make her the “next” Mariah and, well…she’s just not THAT good. They need to focus on giving her her own look and sound instead of trying to force Mimi’s leftovers on her.

  Sorry, Leona, but there’s only ONE Mimi, and there will only be ONE Mimi…love ya, but know your place…

  She’s way better than Mariah; she just needs a bit of polishing – maybe more than Simon Cowell can give her. Mimi was married to Tommy Mottolo – he made her. Leona is much more beautiful and such a breath of fresh air in this chokingly thick cloying field of divatudes……

  Oh no you didn’t Divalicious! I normally don’t say anything but that was blasphemy. “She’s way better than Mariah”.. take me higher lord.. there would be no Leona Lewis without Mariah Carey. OMG! Tommy Mottola made Mariah.. that’s an old one, I haven’t heard that in forever and still false as ever. And she’s more beautiful than.. survey says hell to the monkey doodle no! and how could she be “such a breath of fresh air” when she’s just recycling Mimi’s 1990’s music. You can tell this little girl literally learned how to sing by sitting next to the radio mimicking every run Mariah has ever done! Mariah is often imitated never duplicated, show her some respect! Shame on you, and to think you were the one that helped me lighten up on Leona too. She’s hasn’t even released her first album yet and you’re saying she’s better than Mariah Carey? Give me a break.

  Divalicious you need to check your facts honey! Mariah wrote and produced her shit ok unlike Feona Lewis who gets handed shit to sing. And Tommy Mottola did not make the fans go out and buy her 17 #1 singles! Are you fucking crazy?! And last but not least Tommy Mottola did not have nothing to do with Mariah having the biggest selling album of 2005 The Emancipation of Mi Mi! No one can compare to Mariah! Often imitated and never duplicated Bitch!

  I like Leona, and I think she has so much potential… but to compare her with Mariah is… well, isn’t it difficult? Her 1st single’s not even not head-turning.

  When Mariah debuted 17 years ago, she was touted as the Next Whitney… but she handled the pressure well, because she has huge talent comparable, if not more, than Whitney… and that is saying a lot.

  I just don’t get how Leona gets dragged to the Whitney/Mariah league when in reality, Leona’s vocals on Bleeding love aren’t even that good. Play any song from Mariah’s or WHitney’s debut and you’ll know what I mean.

  Leona is freshair!!! Come on now all mimi and whitney fans need to wake up their vocals is becoming harder for them to control they are sing way to much and adding to much stress to their vocies they both need vocal rest. And while they are resting leona can fill the gap.Leona has an AMAZING voice but she needs more practice. she is never going to be better than them but she might….in time be up there. She is a fresh air to the trash that these Chris brown and rihanna are dishing out

  Okay…here’s the thing..What leona is lacking right now is that fire that Mariah has. If i remember correct, Mariah’s first #1 in the U.S. was “Someday”…an AMAZING pop song!…Leona doesn’t have that uptempo fire in her right now…her songs are great and she sounds good I’ll giver her that..I actually really like her album…but compared to Mariah..she’s just…kinda boring…sorry to say…she needs to get more of a musical range in some different sounds..all Leona’s songs right now are mid tempo …like someone said “Mariah 90s ballads”…she needs to change it up

  and to Josia….don’t bring Rihanna into this…she’s in a whole different musical genre in my opinion..and what she’s done is phenomenal…
