Britney has no one to blame other than herself for her disastrous Sunday VMA performance.

A little birdie is telling me that she arrived almost three-and-a-half hours late for rehearsal, refused to attempt the more complicated dance moves, and remixed the outfit she was supposed to wear.

Page Six is reporting:

”She didn’t even get to Las Vegas until 4:30 p.m. It was ridiculous . . . The production people at MTV were freaking out . . . Nobody can tell Britney what to do anymore. No one can control her. She is a mess”

Once she arrived Brit-Brit couldn’t do the more the intricate dance moves, and so they were cut.

“The dance number was spectacular – without her. When the stand-in was rehearsing with the dancers, in the hours they were all waiting for her, it was amazing,” the source said. “Then Britney showed up and refused to do anything. The dancers were supposed to lift and twirl her in the air a few times, and that just wasn’t going to happen. The more complicated dance moves had to be erased because she couldn’t do them.”

In terms of the outfit this what the little birdie had to say:

“MTV wanted her to wear a corset outfit. It would have looked great and covered a lot of things up, but she hated it and didn’t think it was sexy enough,” the insider says. Instead, Britney opted to rock a barely there bra-and-underwear outfit she’d brought with her that emphasized her weight gain.

One would think that after such a horrible performance Britney would go home and regroup but no she was at the club partying till 3am! Take me higher lord!

I stumbled upon this 2007 Tamia “Officially Missing You” live performance, which I find to be super duper stellar. There’s something about Tamia’s voice in combination with those lyrics that makes for one splendiferous result. (B. Scott has chills!)

Another band of misfits has been chosen! New York, the queen of all misfits, finally has her new round of beaus from which she’ll true the supposed love of her life. This show can’t be for real anymore. October 8th is her premiere date, and even though the show is predictably ridiculous, that doesn’t mean we won’t be watching!

The adopted member of the Destiny’s Child trio released the video for her second single yesterday. I’m feelin’ the track but wish she would’ve made the video a little less 106 & Park. I guess you can’t really expect a song named after the hood to be all that fabulous though. I like Kelly because she channels the inner hood within me. Like me, she gives you classy but can drop it like it’s hot without breaking a sweat! While I’m rooting for Ms. Kelly to mark her solo spot in the industry, I’m not sure this video is a step in the right direction. What do you think love muffins?

In other KR news, a Columbia Records rep has now confirmed her album will be re-released this fall with additional tracks she’s been working on. Hopefully this will at least get her certified tin status.

Ashlee Simpson is trying to find her way back into our hearts one more time as she gears up for the release of her newest album. Tracks from the upcoming project have been slowly making their way out with the full project coming to us this November. She’s been working with everyone from Timbaland to Chad from the Neptunes and I can’t wait to hear how she will conduct her follow-up. With no reality show to fuel her charisma, she better be prepared this time to stand on her talent and only her talent. No trickery allowed!

This track is entitled “Murder” and has a more dark, edgy but sultry sound than we are used to from Ashlee. I can definitely relate to what she’s saying but I don’t know how I feel about this new direction. Only time will tell. Any thoughts love muffins?
