How did the world get so twisted that starving yourself to death was the way to become beautiful?

Anorexia is bad and definitely seen in the world of fashion and in Hollywood but it does not seem to plague the vast majority of the population either here in the USA or in Italy. There are better messages we can send young people like giving up cars or smoking. How many anorexic people do you know versus people who ought to give up eating Big Macs? Exactly.

To answer Armani's statement yes the medical definition of anorexia has nothing to do with fashion, but in today's age of oversaturated materialism fashion and the media contribute to the non-traditional cases of anorexia. This disease has begun to infiltrate sectors of the population through society's interpretation of beauty, that otherwise would have never been exposed to the disease. So yes, fashion does play a part in today's outbreak of the disease in all cultures.

Whew this is deep! I had to gank this and blog about it to spread the message. I am sending this to as many people as I can through email, blogging and bulletins. You never know if there is someone among your circle who maybe suffering from this disease. Thanks for educating us about anorexia, you find some interesting stuff to blog about.
