September 18, 2007 Kanye West Massacres 50 Cent!
According to Billboard, Kanye West’s Graduation just defeated 50 Cent’s Curtis by more than 250,000 records. Kanye West moved 957,000 during its first six days while 50 Cent sold a respectable but distant second 691,000 copies.
There’s no doubt that 50 Cent has sold tons more records and has a huge fan base (any dummy who looks at the numbers can see that). The fact that Kanye, whose previous record sales have not matched the grandiosity of his ego, defeated 50 Cent by such a large margin is quite an accomplishment. On the other hand, the fact that 50 Cent could sell almost 700,000 copies of an album that can only be described as “diarrhea set to music” is shocking and a testament to fact that 50 Cent fans are not only loyal but deaf as well.
Maybe you can tell from my subtle tone but I hope 50 Cent lives up to it’s word and stops rapping for good. The music industry would be safer, not to mention a hell of a lot more listenable without him. The only thing good he’s done is invest in Vitamin Water (that s#!t is like crack). Kanye West actually produces great music and will have a much greater impact on the music game than 50 cent ever will.

Sorry but I doubt Curtis will outsell Graduation in the end because Curtis has failed to produce ANY hits yet whereas Kanye has one of the top songs in the country right now with Stronger.
