September 18, 2007 “Gimme More” Is A Bonfide Hit!
Don’t believe what some of other websites are reporting when they say that Brit-Brit’s “Gimme More” is bombing because it’s actually shooting up the charts at Top 40 radio!
The cut posted the most increased plays on R&R’s CHR/Top 40 chart for a second straight week (up 976 spins) and climbs 25-20 on the tally, marking Spears’ first top 20 appearance since “Every Time” in summer 2004.
Spears last graced the survey with “My Prerogative” in the fall of 2004. Her prior best entrance was the No. 24 launch of “Me Against the Music” in Oct. 2003. “Gimme” is Spears’ 16th charting title this decade, tying her with fellow former Mouseketeer Christina Aguilera for most by a female in that span.
Well it’s nice to know that even though her world is crumbing apart, Brit-Brit’s single is doing well. Take her higher lord!

You should wait for it to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 which comes out every Thursday before it is proclaimed a bona fide hit and so far it yet to that. And if all the websites are saying its a bomb is for a reason I dont even hear it on the radio. Perhaps the first week had alot of spins because of initial curiosity but trust me it is not going to bring her back. =)

I say good for her. Yeah, she might have ruined her comeback with that VMA performance, but the song itself is STILL hella hot. It’s catchier than most of what’s on the radio right now.
