September 17, 2007 New Music: Ashanti, Omarion, Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole has just made my new jam! “Heaven Sent” is just a beautiful song. Normally Keyshia Cole is a little rough around the edges but this shows her growth!
Ashanti needs to go home and start again. Her new album was recently pushed back after her single Switch got a frigid reception from radio. Now she’s back with a new single “Hey Baby”. Not only is the song straight up whack but it uses the exact same sample as Diddy and Keyshia Cole’s “Last Night” but the melody of the song is too similar. Here’s the thing, if you’re gonna use the same sample as another, albeit more popular song song, your attempt should be as good as or better. This song fails on all fronts but don’t trust me, listen for yourselves.
Ashanti feat. Mario Winans – Hey Baby
Omarion and Bow Wow don’t have the same musical chemistry as R. Kelly and Jay-Z but that isn’t stopping them from putting out a duet record called “Face Off” on December 7th. The song is real run of the mill and nothing special which means but I’m betting that won’t stop people from listening to it.

Keyisha Cole: Just straight up NICE!! about 5th time listening to it.
Ashanti: Doesn’t do it for me. It’s catchy but that’s it.

Poor Ashanti she just can’t seem to come up with a hook that doesn’t have her whinning hey baby or ooh baby ! Omarion and Bow Wow sure do make a cute couple, forget about the album!

wat up keyshiea cole i love your songs you make up the most great songs i every heard. i love your other song off your first cd,my favorite song was i thought you had my back this time thats my JAM………….. keep up the good work .
