September 11, 2007 New Video: Kelly Rowland “Ghetto”
The adopted member of the Destiny’s Child trio released the video for her second single yesterday. I’m feelin’ the track but wish she would’ve made the video a little less 106 & Park. I guess you can’t really expect a song named after the hood to be all that fabulous though. I like Kelly because she channels the inner hood within me. Like me, she gives you classy but can drop it like it’s hot without breaking a sweat! While I’m rooting for Ms. Kelly to mark her solo spot in the industry, I’m not sure this video is a step in the right direction. What do you think love muffins?
In other KR news, a Columbia Records rep has now confirmed her album will be re-released this fall with additional tracks she’s been working on. Hopefully this will at least get her certified tin status.
In case you missed it, listen to this unreleased track from Ms. Ghetto:

If ever there was a video treatment that epitomized a song, this was it. This chick put floating fronts in her video!

This is not a step in the right direction. I think the only chance she could have at a solo career is to change management and get out of her comfort zone with Matthew Knowles because obviously it is not working for her. “Ms. Kelly” bombed so hard its a shame!

Yeah, Kelly Rowland’s a dumb bitch, though. Yeah I said it! I love her to death, she was my favorite in Destiny’s Child, but she is one dumb ho!
She is forever defending Matthew Knowles as her manager when it’s CLEAR that he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about her career. All he cares about is Beyonce. And it’s not just HER he’s ignoring, every act besides Beyonce that Matthew has managed has tanked. Sunshine Anderson, Paris Bennett, hell even his black sheep daughter Solange, they ALL got little tinker-toy tracks from no-name producers and shoddy promotion. And their albums all BOMBED too. Matthew Knowles is only focused on Beyonce–the fans know it, the industry knows it, hell BEYONCE knows it. That’s why she isn’t saying shit. But Kelly is just off in lala land somewhere accidentally calling him her Daddy in interviews with Wendy Williams. Dumb broad!
And maybe if she stopped talking about Beyonce in her interviews she could drum up some interest in her own album. Not that it would matter because the album sucks donkey balls anyway. I really can’t say it DESERVES to sell. Which is a shame because I love Kelly. But if she isn’t going to grow up and take the steps needed to help her career why should I support her by praising that crap album?

Hey I totally agree with Brandon hahaha!! She needs to get away from the Knowels camp completely and start a whole new thing. Cuz they are not treating her right in terms of getting her career started. Shes a good singer and deserves a Manager that will do everything to get her up with the big guns.
