I no longer subscribe to cable and BET, MTV and VH1 show no programming that I am remotely interested in. I don't see how anyone who is even the slightest bit interested in positivity watches BET. BET has been setting the black race back since the late 90s and that's REAL TALK. However, the message of the song is what needs to be heard...Also, this song has been around for a LONG time and the BET audience is the primary target of this song. People (especially black people) need to read a book, raise their kids, etc. etc. All these are messages in the song and they need to be heard. Maybe you don't agree with the delivery but the message is on point. I am a young parent who is within the demographic that BET is claiming they are trying to reach and i must say that when i heard this song i laughed and said this is crazy. The reality of it all is that sesame street and school house rock does not interest our children anymore we have to appeal to what they are interested in now. I agree with the Dj take away the cussing and the video and you have a positive message and beat that children would listen to.
