Recently I did a post about some snippets that leaked from Brandy’s new album. One of those songs happened to be a remake by another one of my favorite artists Kiley Dean. When I mentioned this fact in the post many of you were left scratching your head saying “Who the hell is Kiley Dean?” Well let me give you a taste.

Kiley Dean initially got her start as a back-up singer for Britney Spears until she was signed to Timbaland’s Beat Club Records in 2004. Her Timbaland-produced debut, Simple Girl, was a smash hit in the underground R&B scene but label problems caused her album to be shelved. To be honest I don’t know why her songs haven’t taken off. Not only does she have an amazingly soulful voice, but her music is on a whole different level from everything else right now. On song’s like “Who Can I Run To” you know that she can hang with Christina Aguilera if she wanted to, yet on songs like “Better Than The Day” she gives you layered harmonies that are just breathtaking. Even though these songs are almost 4 years old, they are still more innovative than most of the stuff out right now.

In 2006 she recorded her second album, Changes, but it too was never released. Kiley has recently signed with Matthew Knowles’ Music World label and is currently in the studio recording her debut album. Hopefully she won’t get lost in the shuffle again. Hope you enjoy!

Yes, I love me some Kiley Dean!!! Don’t worry, She just needed a distributor for Changes and any new music she’ recorded. Now that she’s with MW, her work from Changes should be the next to be released.

I went to Temple Bar with some friends a bit back and there was this beautiful, soulful young woman performing with a full band at the bar (Kiley). Let me just tell you my friends and I were FLOORED! We got to see her set from beginning to end and she is AMAZING! She sounds incredible live and has such a powerful voice. If you took Christina Aguilera, mixed in with some Alicia Keys, and then toss in a touch of P!nk at her best, you have Kiley Dean! I hope the rest of the world gets to experience her very soon!!!!!

Can we be real for a minute? She sounds just like Brandy. The whisper ghost like vocals. I was getting a Brandy vibe. No wonder Brandy could come in and redo the vocals of Escape so easily. The only thing I will give her is she can hit notes like X-tina but her sound and everything is not unique. Hopefully she will find her own niche with MKMW.

Brandy wished she could sing like Kiley. Oh and Brandy didn’t redo any vocals on Escape, it’s actually the other way around. Brandy is a great artist, but Kileys on another level of vocal delivery for sure.
