August 9, 2007 DVD’s On The Rise!

Coming soon to DVD is Will Ferrell’s look into the real, inner world of professional figure skating. Jon Heder is a great co-star and is slowly venturing out from the omni-focus placed on his role as Napoleon Dynamite. Saw an early screening of Blades of Glory and glad it was free, however, I would definitely invest in the DVD.

28 Weeks later was engaging and started off brilliantly in terms of plot and audience interest. However, it lost momentum half-way through and turned into a mindless zombie-avoidance flick like some of it’s competition. 28 Days later captured the horrible feeling of loneliness, alienation and consistent fear. DVD to be released mid August. Would you buy it love muffins?

New Videos: Akon & Baby Bash

Here’s Akon saying he’s “Sorry”. Something tells us he regrets all of his monkey fool behavior over the past few months (and apparently his life). He may be crazy, love muffins, but something about the video makes us feel just a teeny bit bad for him. But with all those millions he’s making, we’ll get over it!

Here’s your double dose of whiny singers. Baby Bash’s video for “Cyclone” featuring none other than T-Pain has premiered. We really didn’t want this song to grow on us…but it did!

B. Scott Revisits: Jagged Little Pill

G’day love muffins, I just wanted to take a moment a revisit the spectacular album that was Jagged Little Pill. After a couple of pop albums in her native Canada, Alanis Morisette took a more emotional approach to her next album and the result was truly legendary. After her album was released in 1995, it went 16x platinum in the United States alone and went on to become the 18th best selling album of all time (That’s major). Alanis secured herself as part of Canada’s Holy Trinity (Celine, Shania, and Alanis). Jagged Little Pill became the soundtrack of the mid-90s and the sense of angst she embodied in her voice and lyrics has been often imitated but never duplicated by newer wanna-be-rocker artist (Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, etc). Take a moment and revisit all that is and was Jagged Little Pill.

Madonna Works With Today’s Hottest Producers For Upcoming Album

Madonna & Timbaland

The internet has been abuzz about rumored collaborations for Madge’s upcoming album. Now Timbaland has finally fessed up to working with the material girl.

“We just did Madonna’s record,” Timbo said, sitting in the “TRL” green room. He was part of the cavalcade of stars… who came out for the VMA press conference on Tuesday. “Me and Justin did the records” for the album, he continued, saying Madonna is almost done with the effort. “She’s great. … She’s got a hot album. Her album is up there with Justin’s album.”

Tim says he and Justin wrote and produced 10 songs for Madge’s LP, many of which will make the club jump.

He also confirmed that he’s not the only producer she worked with.

Pharrell did a hot one for her too called ‘Candy Shop.’ She’s off the chain.”

And just for my love muffins I have scoured the internet to find a snippit of “Candy Shop” for your listening pleasure. While it sounds like it was recorded using a cheapo cell phone, the beat still gave me enough to make my head nod.

Madonna – Candy Shop (snippit)

The upcoming album still doesn’t have a confirmed title but is rumored to be hitting stores October 30. I know I’ll be one of the first people in line to get a copy. Will you?
