Last Thursday the offices of G-Unit Records were in a tizzy after 50 Cent discovered the video for “Follow My Lead“, an upcoming single off his soon to be released album Curtis, was leaked reportedly two to three months ahead of schedule (we premiered it here). He has confirmed to MTV that the rumors of him tearing a plasma tv from the wall and tossing a cell phone through a window after he found out were in fact true.

“I woke up, I’m having a regular day, I’m actually going to work… I’m taking meetings, doing different things that I had planned on the schedule. And I get phone call and someone is telling me they seen the Robin Thicke video! It was a friend of mine, but he’s from a different state. Soon as [bootleggers] see something like that, they take the audio off the video, because they know it’s not supposed to be out, [and leak the audio track online]. Then I start to get the phone calls, ’cause across the country the mix-show DJs start getting it. This record isn’t even supposed to be out!”

Fiddy blames the leak on Interscope records and admits that after the leaking of “Ayo Technology” and this video, nothing is going as he’s expected.

While talking with MTV he also fessed up that he won’t be stepping away from the mic, even if Kanye sells more records than him.

“Look at how you’re talking to me, like Kanye West is my equal right now… That’s like me putting myself against Michael Jackson’s [album-release] date and then acting like, ‘Woah, it’s a battle between 50 Cent and Michael Jackson!’, when Thriller sold 30 million records and 50 Cent’s biggest album sold 12 [million], you feel what I’m saying?”

Though we’re not quite sure what he meant by that, one thing’s for sure: 50 Cent has pulled out his boxing gloves and is ready to go to war behind his latest album!
