August 15, 2007 Kanye West Brings In Lil Wayne

Previously, Kanye let everybody know that he’d be the only voice on the album, but he’s decided to feature Lil Wayne on a track called “Barry Bonds”. Now this song isn’t listed on the album (unless it’s a bonus track), so we’re not sure if it’s going to be released or not. According to MTV:

Bonds — Major League Baseball’s controversial, newly crowned home-run king — is apparently a metaphor for how big West thinks the record will be. The chorus goes, “Here’s another hit, Barry Bonds.”

As he’s been doing on “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” its remix and “Stronger,” West uses “Barry Bonds” in part to proclaim his continued evolution as one of the top lyricists in the game.

Now West’s entire album has been leaked all over the Internet, which is the best way to build buzz. Especially when you supposedly have beef with another rapper. September 11 is still the release date for Graduation, so we’ll see if this helps his sales.
