August 9, 2007 So Sad: Usher’s Mom Absent At Wedding!
So first there’s the rumor about Usher’s fiancé Tameka causing Usher not to get along with his mom, then their wedding was canceled, and finally the wedding took place in his lawyer’s office. Today People magazine reported that Usher’s mom and former manager before he fell in love with a wildabeast didn’t even attend the wedding.
When Usher and Tameka Foster tied the knot in a simple civil ceremony Aug. 3, there were no white hydrangea centerpieces, no love songs from Robin Thicke, no fancy spreads from celebrity chefs, and – most conspicuously – no mother of the groom, PEOPLE reports in its new issue.
A source close to the family confirms that Usher’s mother and former manager, Jonetta Patton, was a no-show at the ceremony, reportedly held in Usher’s lawyer’s office, and she instead chose to spend the day at a spa in Atlanta.
As for the rest of Usher’s inner circle, “some people didn’t know about [the civil wedding] until a day later,” says a source. “But that’s Usher and Tameka for you. One thing one day and a whole other thing the next.”
Urrsher, WHAT IS GOING ON?! Your dad is not around (allegedly he’s a paroled crackhead) and now your mom, who helped you get into the business, would rather get her toenails polished than watch you exchange vows with Esther Rolle??? DAMN. I LOVE ME SOME USHER TOO BUT DAMN I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHATBTHE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM. MY COUSIN SAID HE MIGHT BE ON DRUGS OR SOMETHING AND HE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING. LMFAO. I WISH HE WOULD DIVORCE HER. THAT SAYS ALOT ABOUT A PERSON IF THIER OWN MOTHER DOES NOT LIKE THE BITCH.

Women know other women. Point blank. Usher’s mom alreay knows the deal with that chick. But obviously, Usher is one of those people that can’t be told something. They have to experience it for themselves……good luck to him though……

I’m really late on this post, because I’ve been checking out the site since I’ve become a love muffin
. Anywho, I really don’t understand why people came down on Usher so bad. #1 is he not a grown ass man? Why is it okay for his “mama” to chose who he’s with and not with. Women always crying about “mama’s boys”, but as soon as one tries to make his own decision (about love and marriage)….he should listen to his mother??? Just don’t get it. There are those who don’t think she’s cute. WTF does that mean or matter. People a trip! Everybody wants to be loved for who they are, not what they have or look like, BUT as soon as a man chooses a woman for reasons other than her looks (BTW he may find her extremely attractive)….he’s wrong. It is not uncommon for a mother to not like her son’s girlfriend/wife. But an adult is suppose to make decisions for themselves….or do I have this all wrong????

And another thing, lmao….Just because his mother did what a mother is suppose to do, by supporting her son in his goals and aspirations, that does not give right to dictating who he’s with. I don’t care if their marriage last a year….that does not mean she’s right. And what’s funny about that is people are going to say “See, he should’ve listened to his mama”, lol. How many people listen to their mamas and end up in bad relationships anyway? Love is love. This is definitely a case of hateration. Why??? Because there is absolutely NO reason to hate on this couple….but apparently people have found a reason….AS USUAL….so sad….
