Five years later, R. Kelly has finally been summoned to court on September 17th for that little urine incident.

The judge in the case announced a Sept. 17 date for the start of a jury trial, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported on its Web site that the setting of a date followed a meeting Wednesday that lasted more than an hour between Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan with Kelly, his attorneys and the case’s lead prosecutor. Gaughan said the two sides have agreed on what questions potential jurors can be asked.

We’ve clearly supported this self-proclaimed flirt by buying his records and tickets to his tours. He’s continued to stay on top of the producing game by collaborating with various artists and writing a number of songs. Has the severity of his case diminished a bit over time? It’ll be interesting to see how he’s prosecuted and how his fans will take that news!
