20 Y.O.’s album sales were nowhere they were expected to be. Quite disappointing. But Janet has been in the studio since June working on a new album, and finally there’s been announcement of the delivery. Although there are no details, all we do know is that a new album will be out at the beginning of 2008. She’s been in Miami at Circle House Studios with her longtime boo, Jermaine Dupri, L.A. Reid, Ne-Yo and Pharrell. J.D. may not have contributed the same fire to Janet’s album that he gave to all of his other clients, but she may have found a good match with Ne-Yo and Pharrell. They could give her a sound that will truly give be the re-introduction the public’s been waiting for!

We love the song & the video for Paramore’s “Misery Business”. The hit comes from the band’s second album entitled “RIOT!” and is tearing up the MTV-based television screens. The lead singer, Hayley Williams, is an amazing vocalist and has the perfect blend between an angelic pop princess & punk rock sirene. Her notes are pure and a far cry from the shouting that sometimes takes place in the genre. Look out for more from Paramore!

Zac Efron of “High School Musical” fame and of the new hit “Hairspray” is slated to revive the Kevin Bacon role in the film ‘Footloose’.

The original film was about a town in which dancing & rock music have been shut down. A newcomer (Bacon/Efron) comes to town and stimulates a change. Should be interesting. With all these dancing movies, next thing you know Efron will be starring in “You Got Served IV – Blood on the Dance Floor.”

MTV has a new scripted drama set to air Fall 2007 about (*drum roll*) … a pop star who quickly finds fame. Who would have ever thought MTV would be so innovative?! (*yawn*)

The trailer for Kaya looks lackluster and I can’t say that I’ll be running to my TV to watch it let alone recording it to the TiVo.

I do love, however, how art imitates life in this series. Eric Benet makes an appearance as a “producer” who supposedly is all to excited to work with Kaya. So much so, that they start sleeping together & making music!
