Small Town Gay Bar reminds me of what my life could have been like had I chosen to stay in a small country town. Executive produced by Kevin Smith, acclaimed director of such films as Chasing Amy, Clerks, Dogma, this Official Selection at the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival takes a compassionate and personal look at the struggle for acceptance in rural gay America.

Deep in the heart of the “Bible Belt“, it is evident the fight for equal rights is far from over! Focusing primarily on two bars in Mississippi, Rumors and Crossroads, small town gay bar introduces us to the proprietors and their customers as they struggle to stand their grown in hostile terrain. For the local gays, these venues are much more than just a local watering hole; the bars provide a sense of belonging - a community.
