1. Alicia Keys

Here’s a video of the supremely talented Alicia Keys in the studio recording a song titled “Superwoman“. As of now, her new album is titled As I Am and is scheduled for an October 23. I can’t wait.

2. Janet Jackson
According to the Miami Herald, Pop superstar Janet Jackson is in Miami recording a new album. The ‘All for You’ singer has booked 3 months of recording time at Circle House Studios. Interestingly, Def Jam head LA Reid has accompanied Jackson on the trip. Though boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has yet to been seen with them, he is slated to produce on the project. I think working with JD again is a big mistake. She had magic when she worked with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis but maybe JD’s penis power is clouding her judgement!

3. Monica
R&B singer Monica is currently in the studio working on the follow-up to ‘The Makings Of Me’. When she spoke to Metro Weekly last month, she revealed that she is in the process of ‘writing and putting songs together’ for the new project. She also added that the album will be released ‘far sooner than her typical three-or-more year wait between albums’. I can’t wait.

4. Brandy
Instead of letting her personal woes get in the way of her music, Brandy is doing what she always does and turning her strife into great music. Recently Brandy posted a new blog on her myspace that read: “Hey Everyone. I know it has been a while, but I have been working in the studio all this time. Take a look at my site http://foreverbrandy.com and drop me your email there. As things start to happen you will be the first to know. Brandy”. The site says to expect a new album by the end of the year, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a huge Brandy fan and this has made my year.
