June 13, 2007 Love Muffin Request: Rihanna Struggles On The View
One of my love favorite love muffins, PS, pointed out Rihanna’s Monday performance (above) on The View was a little less than stellar and wrote:
I’m suprised you didn’t read Rihanna for her performance on the view the day b4 yesterday. She looks fab but her vocals and the fact that she sang over the track WITH her vocals on it was a little off. Still love your site, love muffin!!!

you know, i wonder about the times that we live in. when real talent isnt really needed. when all you need is a good look (and she does look amazing) and a hot track/producer and ppl will be on your ish. now this isnt hate. i love rihanna she is Bajan, so I am especially routing for her.
I just wish that she was more talented. that she could dance. that she could sing. she has been thrust on this level competing with heavy weights (xtina, beyonce (dont hate) etc) but falling way behind in terms of talent. but definately not exposure and a push from her label. You cant even compare her to britney or jlo bc they atleast could dance. So i said all this to say that shes not ready. needs work/stage presence etc. i wish her the best tho. Barbados Stand Up!

Well, B. Scott we all saw your earlier post on the Rihanna pre-record deal, and well…she sucked. You can’t learn talent. But, I enjoy her none-the less. I just know not to waste my money on her live.

I’m not surprised. I’ll state that I’m not one of her fans, but its performances like that will keep her fan base from expanding. I would hope she’d do better for a concert…but if this is live, than I have little hope that that would be the case. Either way, I won’t be buying tickets.
And so echo supyall, so much talent is lacking. People have argued that Beyonce can’t sing (i’m not co-signing) but at the very least, she’s a performer…and I’can’t give Rihanna that much.

Well, tha background kind of messed it up, but she sounded okay up until the bridge. It sounded like she was tired. B ut I do agree with supyall.

the back track was killin the performance in the beginning but her vocals were good when the needed to be, the “ELLA”s were just off period and the background singers!!!!!!!!! omg they sounded like a dying wolves j/p but they were off too, somebody could’ve got someone better to help her out.
