In our earlier post about Live Earth we let you know the star studded line-up for the spectacular! Madonna and the Beastie Boys are in cue to perform in London but the sultry Rihanna is scheduled to perform her heart out at the Japan concert site alongside Linkin Park. I hope she performs “Please Don’t Stop The Music” as that is clearly going to be the anthem of the summer.

The supremely talented Mariah Carey is set to poke fun at herself and the ongoings of her life in an upcoming 15 minute short film called, Lovers & Haters. The $5 million short will be directed by the Coup D’etat of directors himself, Spike Lee. Mariah will be set against the ‘lovers’ and ‘haters’ she encounters along the way of her life and will show how she prevails to become the musically enlightened diva of talent that she is – breaking numerous records and holding a spot in history.
Lee and Carey have worked together before on her 2006 tour for ‘The Adventures of Mimi’ in which Lee directed a few pieces.
Look for the short to be released September 16, 2007.
A movie + Tennessee + a new album. Mariah is the bomb.com!

Keanu Reeves & Kevin Federline? In a movie? Together?
That’s right, love muffins! Reeves’ latest project in production, Night Watch, is a story of a LAPD cop who becomes an alcoholic after the death of his wife. To top it all off, he is framed by his mentor (Forest Whitaker) and charged in the murder of another police offer.
The plot from this cop-drama seems familiar but interesting. From the writer of The Fast and the Furious, Training Day and S.W.A.T, it might be a potential blockbuster. The all-star cast includes Chris Evans, Whitaker, Reeves, and rap artist turned thespian, Common. But where in the world does K-Fed fit in as a Hollywood heavy hitter?
Britney “Fears” will be screaming in horror if her Fed-Ex is hitting the red carpets at the same events as she!
Should be interesting. Only time will tell!

Empress Restaurant & Lounge on Sunset Blvd. celebrated its relaunch with a party late last week. We were a few of the night’s lucky guests, and we definitely think it’s a place to check out. This Asian fusion hot spot is super sleek, sexy and splendiferous. Whether you’re going for a meal or a late night cocktail, we think it’s a spot to add to your must-visit list.
Jacob Lutrell (top, left) was the evening’s musical guest, and he wowed the crowd with his soulful selections. Check out our previous feature on him. He has a sound all his own, and we’re happy to have gotten a sneak preview of his talent. There were also a few sexy lingerie models (top, right) strutting their stuff around the place. Our friend Annie was one of them!
Jacob Luttrell served the crowd his signature sound as they chilled out in the upstairs restaurant and chowed down on sushi and swallowed cocktail after fabulous cocktail. The upper level overlooks the Strip, which is great for people watching from above. It’s a small space—quite intimate for a nice dinner or a private party. At the end of his set, Jacob was great and greeted all of his fans and friends upstairs. He’s obviously a hit with the ladies, but sorry for you girls, he’s married!
A big thanks goes out to Jacqui (above) and Ryan, the fabulous hostess and head bartender, respectively, who really treated us well that night. If you’re in Hollywood, go see Ryan and ask for The Empress. He’ll serve up the sneakiest drink you’ve ever had. He guarantees that you’ll be leaning like a cholo after three!
If you want to see more of our time at the Empress, stay tuned. We’ve got video, and we think you’ll enjoy it!
Big thanks to Erykah and Heather from Erykah Productions for setting it all up!
