May 23, 2007 Rosie And Elisabeth Throw Down On The View!
Anyone who is not on the East coast, you must watch The View today. I’m sure the fight will be hitting Youtube in a matter of minutes. Trust me, the verbal showdown between Rosie O’Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck was legendary!
To make a long story short, Rosie was mad that Elisabeth did not come to her defense two days ago. Elisabeth’s favorite news network, FoxNews, said that Rosie thought the US troops were terrorists. When Rosie asked Elisabeth what she thought of the comment, Elisabeth did not respond and instead suggested that Rosie clarify what she was trying to say. Rosie took this as a slap in the face because she said she considers Elisabeth a friend and was surprised that instead of denouncing FoxNews’ statements, she would rather play coy.
Here was the video from two days ago that lead to the argument today! (It’s at around 4:13)
Today, the topic resurfaced and the fur was flying. Honey, this was a catfight to end all catfights. They were calling each other cowards, while Joy was desperately trying to mediate and pleading to producers to go to commercial. It was really serious. I thought I was watching Jerry Springer or Flavor of Love for a minute. Even though I rarely agree with anything Elisabeth says, I must say she held her own. Rosie can be a really overpowering figure if you’re not ready.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rosie decided to leave early. If my inclinations are correct, expect Barbara Walters (aka den mother) to make an appearance in the very near future to quiet the waters. You must watch if you get a chance. I’ll give you an update later…with video perhaps!
P.S. – I thought Rosie said she wasn’t going to fight with Elisabeth anymore? Ah well, that lasted all of 2 minutes!

At first I was uncomfortable watching the confrontation. Afterward I was upset that Elizabeth could not address the actual question Rosie was putting to her. Not too dissimilar to the ‘fogspeak’ we all encounter with the current administration. I was happy that Joy brought up the list of inadequacies of Bush and his cronies. I thought Joy chickened out after the argument got started. She was the one who started it all and comically wanted to paste herself against the wall of the set. Funny actually.

I am with Rosie all the way! Elizabeth is so stupid that she can’t even see what the real issue is: she was asked a yes or no question and danced around the answer. Ro has every right to feel hurt that her “Friend” did not stick up for her. Maybe Elizabeth is afraid she won’t get invited back to the White House. And after Joy B read that list and Elizabeth kept going on about games, I think SHE needs to go, not Ro. I think Ro speaks for a lot more people than Elizabeth does!
