After watching tonight’s finale of American Idol I had five key questions…

1. What Was Up With Paula’s Hair: WTF? Not only was she incoherent as usual, but her hair looked particularly bad tonight. When she goes in to get her nose fixed, she should really let someone do something with that head. Sometimes she has great hair days…tonight was definitely not one of them

2. Was Simon’s Praise for Jordin her “Kiss of Death”: Secretly America loves to watch Simon Cowell, otherwise they probably wouldn’t watch American Idol at all. But what America loves even more than watching Simon every week is voting against him. The minute he told Jordin “You swept the floor with Blake on that song”, I could feel the title slip away from her. We saw this last week when he praised Melinda Dolittle, she was hastily wiped off the stage. Could all the positive made by Simon and the rest of the judges be the very thing that sends Jordin packing?

3. Was The Finale Song Kinda Wack?: Since “A Moment Like This” and “I Believe” were such token tear-jerker pop songs, I was hoping Idol would do something different. “This Is My Now” takes sappy to a whole new level. What more should really expect from AI?

4. How great was it to see Chris Daughtry?: Chris Daughtry is just another example that losing in American Idol isn’t always the end of your career. His debut album has been out only 6 months and he’s already gone double platinum. His performance was great and seeing him live made me want to go buy his album!
