A box office coup d’etat: $122 million dollars to be exact. Spidey brought in $28 million and 28 Weeks Later brought in $5.1 million—not even close. This was the largest opening for an animated movie ever and the third largest movie opening of all time. So what if the critics gave it tepid reviews? America has spoken and it loves it some ogre!
