May 8, 2007 Nick Cannon Pops The Question
The couple made an unnecessary appearance at the Costume Institute Gala in New York last night, and to Selita Ebanks’ surprise, Nick Cannon proposed. For months now, rumors have swirled that the two have already been married since February, and this was the traditional and proper proposal that she’s been waiting for.
They drove to the middle of Times Square, and the words ‘Selita, will you marry me?’ strolled across the Jumbotron. Here’s the kicker: ‘ol boy gave her a 12 carat ring! I know Wild ‘n Out has had a pretty decent run on MTV, but I didn’t know Nick had it like that! Clearly, he took every penny out of his piggy bank, or that ring is on loan, and it will be back in the shop by the end of the week. We’ll see how long another ridiculous marriage in young Hollywood’s history will last.
