April 27, 2007 Wal-Mart: Doing Too Much ?!
This week, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. announced that it has plans to open 400 or more in-store health clinics in the next three years. The company hopes to have thousands of clinics opened up by 2014 in stores nationwide. The mega-conglomerate desires to work with hospitals and health organizations to get the initiative done. Presently, there are 60 or so of these said clinics in a dozen states at various Wal-Marts stemming back from a trial set-up back in 2005.
The President and CEO of Wal-Mart, Lee Scott—not to be confused on any level with B. Scott—stated that the super initiative is in response to the health care crisis in the United States.

Womp Womp! Wal-Mart is just looking to put a super grip on another major area of potential financial revenue for their corporation. We’ll see what happens! But I hope I don’t catch anyone getting their pap smear on at Wal-Mart! Regardless of how cheap it may be, it would never be sexy or a good look. Clean up in aisle 9!
