Maybe you remember her as the woman who belted out a few notes on Arrested Development’s “Tennessee“. Dionne Farris broke out in 1995 with the single “I Know”, and it hit the Hot 100 list at #4. Her sound is so clear, pure and heartfelt. Plus she broke a few barriers (just like Mechelle Ndegeocello), hittings the airwaves as a black female artist crossing over into and rocking the alternative world. Again, why can’t artists like this stay and prosper?
