April 19, 2007 24th Annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards Arrivals
There were big winners at last night’s ASCAP Music Awards. Kelly Clarkson won three awards for her song writing talents which is great! Just think…this small-town girl turned American Idol winner has truly blown up in her short time on the scene! Many congratulations to her!
Johnta Austin and Jermaine Dupri shared the Songwriter of the Year Award.
Melissa Etheridge was honored with the ASCAP Founders Award, which names a musician who has made contributions to and inspired the artform with their own style. The All-American Rejects picked up the Vanguard Award to recognize “musical genres that help share the future of American music”. And EMI Music Publishing as a whole was awarded the Publisher of the Year Award for a total of 26 award-winning songs, which is the fifth time in a row for the company.
Just a few of the performers included The Fray’s Joe King and Isaac Slade, Nick Lachey and my personal fave, Anna Nalick.
Congrats again!
