April 16, 2007 T-pain: Man, myth, creature or genius?
I am at odds within myself at the mystery and confusion that is the music artist T-Pain. My common sense tells me that the type of music he makes should never make the radio let alone be enjoyed so much that he tops the charts!
He introduced himself to us with “I’m Sprung“. Mediocre but catchy at best, he invaded our space with some feel-good music that was better than the rest of the sub-par R&B out at the moment.
Then, he followed up with the Players Club inspired anthem for all Gentelmen clubs around the world. “I’m in Luv with a Stripper” found its way to the heart of all clubs and video waves with the yet again “catchy” hook and dance-able beat.
But the latest invasion, and a welcome one might I add, is T-Pain’s “Buy U A Drink“. We, at the institute of B. Scott, love! love! love it! I don’t know what he does in the studio or how he thinks about coming out with the next level of craziness that we will accept, but his formula works. Anytime this song comes in—be it car, club, or corner office—instant movement is bound to occur. Peep the video:
Speaking of creature…
Is it me or does T-Pain look like a relative of the horror franchise front-man, The Predator?
