April 5, 2007 The Queen Goes Green. . . Well Sort Of
Queen Elizabeth II, at the request of her eldest son, has appointed environmental consultants to determine the carbon emissions for her royal residences. Prince Charles, a big supporter of the green movement, plans to announce in his annual review that his own residence, Clarence House, is now carbon neutral. Unfortunately this attempt to offset Her Majesty’s carbon emissions may prove futile when the royals’ luxurious Bentley Limos, Rolls-Royces, and worst of all, royal flights put the Queen’s residences emissions at more than 300 times the national average (Queen 3751, You 10)! Well hey, at least she is trying. I wouldn’t want the Queen of England flying United Airlines with me. . . Can you say big royal target?? I suppose we’ll just have to forgive the leaders of state for their high uses of fossil fuels. After all, if they can’t fly to all of those polo games. . . they might start getting involved in actual politics!
But in the spirit of the Queen’s new attempt to go green, I’m including some Queen in Green photos because even if you can’t go green. . .you can wear it!

That woman is rockin’. Forreals. Immaculate outfits, carries off every colour, and as for the bling….we all know the Royals were ahead of the trend when it came to that.
