April 2, 2007 Summer 2007 Movie Alert!
The lazy heat of summer is sneaking up on us quickly, and Hollywood plans to give you a ton of reasons to sit it down in the theater this year. The summer of 2007 is literally JAM PACKED with so many big movies that the industry is sure to see a big pick up in somewhat slumbering sales. Pull out your calendars and mark down your favorites!
The previous two films were great! This third one could only be amazing. Rarely am I caught up in ensemble casts, but the Ocean’s trilogy gets me each time. Never has there been a movie with so many Sexy A$$ Men! Mark June 8th on your calendars!
Many of you have heard of this movie, but I’m not sure how many of you have seen the trailer yet. Evan Almighty, the summer sequel to Bruce Almighty, is going to be huge for Steve Carrell. Shake your moneymaker Steve because you’re going to blow up the box office! Check it out on June 22nd.

Transformers will surely blow out the box office when it opens July 4th weekend. Josh Duhamel and Shia LaBeouf star in this cartoon-turned-big-screen-hit. It’s more than meets the eye!
Johnny Depp, aka Jack Sparrow, is back with his usual crew to take a stand against Davy Jones, Lord Cutler Beckett and all of the East India Trading Company. The first two movies made over $1.7 BILLION worldwide. The third installment, with its budget of $150 million, should raise the total earnings of this franchise even higher in the history books. The movie comes out May 25, which is a wee early to be considered a summer hit, but I’ll throw it in anyways!
This movie is going to be the cutest summer hit! Emma Roberts, the niece of Julia Roberts, stars in this movie about the fabled mystery-solver. (I almost want to pre-order my tickets!) The small town girl finds herself in Los Angeles unraveling the story behind a movie star’s death. Wouldn’t it be great if Nancy Drew solved the case behind Anna Nicole’s untimely passing! If you’re a fan of Nancy, check out this highly fictionalized book-made-into-a-movie adaptation on June 15.
The Simpsons fans will be OUT when this movie premieres! It’s going to be quite an ‘experience’ to say the least. Get your tickets early because opening weekend—July 27—will be a beast!
Rush Hour 3 could either be comedic genius or an unnecessary cinematic defeat. Chris Tucker has been out of the game for so long when we needed his crazy a$$ around to make us laugh! If he and Jackie Chan can remind us that they were funny as hell in the first Rush Hour, then I think it could work. Support actors in need of work on August 10!
These are just a few of the movies that will be out this summer. Don’t forget about Spiderman 3, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Shrek the Third, The Bourne Ultimatum AND Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. There’s always a little something for everyone. See you at the movies!
