March 29, 2007 Fantasia Is The 6 Million Dollar Woman!
Apparently Oprah knows what she’s doing! Since the announcement last month that American Idol’s Fantasia Barrino would be joining the cast of The Color Purple on Broadway, ticket sales have pulled in a whopping $6 million dollars! I must admit that I’m a little surpriseD Fantasia’s appearance has gotten such an enthusiastic response. If only 6 million people would by her records, maybe she wouldn’t need to do the show.
The pairing seems to be a match made in floundering career heaven. Both the Broadway play and the 22-year-old singer have been critically acclaimed yet the public reception has been less than stellar lately. Hopefully this match-up will increase publicity for both. Thats the problem with folks, they just can’t be happy for someone unless they have something negative to say which is a true reflection of self.
