Last night the Dixie Chicks took home 5 awards out of their 5 nominations. That’s quite a night for a group that was blacklisted by the entire country music industry just a year ago. It’s good to see them being praised for their wonderful music despite what people may think about their political views. In addition to their numerous awards, their performance of “Not Ready To Make Nice” was one of the highlights of the entire night. Most chickens can’t fly but these chicks were surely FLYING HIGH last night!

Eddie Murphey killed the box office this weekend with his movie coming in #1, banking over $33 million. Honestly, I’m flummoxed. I could not spend my hard earned money on this one, but I guess it appeals to those who want a dummy laugh. I will admit that watching a somewhat 400 lb woman fly off the motherlode of all slip and slides through a wooden fence and then land on top of a screaming child is PURE COMEDY, but I have a feeling I’d be struggling to find the other funny moments. I’ll be happy for Mr. Murphy on the grounds that he is getting some recognition for his talents post-Dreamgirls, but this whole Nutty Professor Part III fat suit act is getting OLD!

AWWW! Aren’t They Cute. Earlier in the night while on the red carpet with Ryan Seacrest, John was questioned about his relationship with Jessica. In an act of pure genius, John replied to Seacrest in fluent Japanese and told him to find someone who could decode it and he’d have the answer.

If your curious, John’s translated statement simply said, “She is very beautiful – and you’re the last to know.”

After dodging the media on the red carpet, nothing could stop him from publicly displaying his new love for “Jessica Rabbit”. I think they look really cute together. Just in time for V-Day!
