Many commented on our previous post about the poet Beau Sia’s video letting the “plus-size lesbian” know just how offensive and damaging her comments were to the Asian community. I thought she wouldn’t respond until The View on Monday but, in true Rosie fashion, she couldn’t hold her tongue. Last night Rosie responded on her blog.

What can I say. She seems sincere enough but I have one problem. I’m tired of people always throwing around the “I didn’t know” excuse (i.e., “I didn’t know I couldn’t say ‘nigger’” or “I wasn’t aware I couldn’t make fun of Jews”). It’s now 2007 and people know what they should and should not say. Anyone growing up in America knows that it’s not OK to make fun of the way people talk. Rosie knew good and well what she said was completely inappropriate but she thought so less of the people she was offending that she didn’t think they would stand up against her. I thought Donald Trump drove home that lesson for her but apparently not. Hope the message sticks this time!
