They seemed pretty chummy on The View yesterday but apparently there was an all-out screaming match that took place seconds before they went on screen. Cindy Adams from the New York Post Page Six reports that O’Donnell blew up at Walter for not coming to her defense soon enough and allowing Donald Trump’s statements to get so much airtime. O’Donnell is quoted as saying,

“You didn’t call me for 10 goddamn days, and you didn’t tell me what you were going to say on television! You went all around this and never called [Trump] a liar. You never said, ‘Donald is lying.’ You never called him a liar.”

They also report that executive producer Bill Geddie had to calm Rosie down and tell her she had crossed the line. Of course, Cindy Berger, the publicist for both Rosie and Barbara, is denying the reports of a squabble and says it was “business as usual”. It remains to be seen how all of this will play out but since Rosie’s contract is only for a year, I can’t see why either party would want to continue this kind of working relationship despite the huge jump in viewers. We’ll just have to wait and see.
